Music as Thinking/Thinking as Music: A Dialogue with Mukund Lath

This article offers a dialogue with Mukund Lath. It is comprised of three parts: Part One introduces Lath’s body work. The second and third parts are jugalbandī, duet or Lath through his essays “Identity Through Necessary Change” (2003/2018) “Thoughts on Svara Rasa: Music as Thinking/Thinking Music” (2016). In the first essay, discusses question identity self, suggesting classical Indian music, rāga that it change plurality, not continuity despite change, define human person. creates between music thinking.
